The second leg of the 24th annual South African Music Awards took place on Saturday night in Sun City.

The star-studded event was filled with fabulous fashion and hosted by flamboyant personality Somizi Mhlongo, presenter Dino Ranaka and comedian Mpho Pops.

The hottest in Mzansi’s music scene were honoured for their work, and while some of our regular favourites picked up awards on the night, there were also some newcomers who got the recognition they deserved.

See the list of artists who walked away with new accolades.

SHEKINAH

Shekinah has come a long way since her days on  SA Idols!  The singer-songwriter was the star of the night, walking away with three big awards.

She cleaned up at the SAMAs, winning Newcomer of the Year, Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year for her debut album Rose Gold.
