Bombay Crush is a sweet and creamy milkshake and a favourite amongst South Africans.

Ingredients

2 glasses of milk

1 cup of milk to soak subja seeds (these seeds are rich in proteins, carbs, and essential fats and are packed with a good deal of fibre.)

2 tbs sugar

4 tbsp rose syrup

1 cup rice noodles/falooda

1 tbs subja seeds

2 cups of vanilla ice-cream

Method

Put 1 cup of milk in a bowl and soak subja seeds in it. Allow the seeds to bloom.

They will begin to swell within 15-30 min of soaking. When you observe a transparent jelly-like coating over the seed, they are ready for use.

Pour some water into a pan and let it come to a rolling boil.

Add falooda, let it cook for 5 minutes until soft. Drain it and rinse it with cold water, keep in the fridge.

Take milk in a bowl and add 2 tbsp of sugar. Keep it in the refrigerator to chill.

When the milk becomes chilled, mix soaked subja seed and whip well to mix the seeds.

Take a serving glass and pour milk, then add 1tbs of falooda. Gently pour in the rose syrup and mix it well.

Float a scoop of ice-cream, and put a little falooda and few drops of rose syrup on top of the shake. Serve chilled.
