CAPE TOWN – Woolworths Holdings announced yesterday that Marks & Spencer executive Scott Fyfe had been appointed chief executive officer of its Australian subsidiary, Country Road Group.
Woolworths said in a statement that Fyfe was joining Country Road after 20 years at Marks & Spencer, where he had worked in a variety of roles across buying, merchandising and sourcing. Recent positions he had held at the UK-based international retailer included director for menswear and childrenswear, and merchandising director for womenswear.
Fyfe replaces Matt Keogh, who was leaving “to pursue new career opportunities”.
The statement added that Ian Moir, Woolworths group chief executive officer, would be working with Country Road’s executive team until Fyfe started his new role in early 2017.
