One-year-old Kodiak bear Berkley was spoonfed through the window of a Dairy Queen branch in Alberta, Canada.

An image of the visit was shared online by Discovery Wildlife Park in Innisfail but was removed after a backlash from animal rights activists.

Zoo owner Doug Bos hit back at his critics, saying Berkley was not wild but born and raised in captivity. ‘These bears aren’t just your average bear that we go snag out of the wild and do this,’ he said.

He said he plans to plead guilty later this month of failing to tell authorities an animal was taken off-site.
