Uzalo Actor Nay Maps has revealed that he is looking for a special somebody.
One of South Africa’s most eligible bachelors opened up on East Coast Breakfast about looking for love, to which the ladies of KwaZulu-Natal have been clamoring for the opportunity to win a date with him.
#TheBreakfastHookUp came about after the Uzalo star who was being interviewed on East Coast Breakfast yesterday quipped, “It is about time.’’
Nay went on to say, “I want to give a lucky listener the opportunity to go on a date with me…This is open to everyone; I think that each and every lady is beautiful in their own way.”
Nay is not just an actor but also a voice-over artist, TV presenter, model, and singer. With over 800,000 fans collectively on his social media platforms, he is also wildly popular with the ladies.
While Mxolisi, his on-screen bad boy character on Uzalo has a girlfriend, in real life Nay is very much single.
East Coast Radio’s Darren Maule was initially taken aback when Nay made the offer to date a listener, but he says he isn’t surprised that Nay is looking to date women from KZN saying, “Our ladies are the best. Our ladies look for a man who is confident, comfortable and convivial.”

Speaking to Move magazine about his career in acting he said, “I used to be in school plays and musicals, but I only started taking acting seriously around 2012. I started with modelling and TV commercials,” he said.
“I got my professional break in 2014 with a role on Isibaya for about two episodes. I played the character of Tshepo. After that came Uzalo.”
He described acting as a world of differences. “I love the fact that I can be anything, like being a pilot, doctor or even a parent all in one lifetime. I can express myself in many ways and tell stories truthfully and impact lives in many ways. I love how I can take someone on a journey just by them watching me without having to be with them,” he said, adding that what he likes the most about Mxolisi is his sense of style.
“I like how he dresses because that is also my passion. I love clothing,” he said.
Nay also has a clothing line that he launched last year. In an interview, he said he had always wanted to create a brand that people will love and appreciate.
“I’ve always pictured myself having and creating a brand that would be worn by the entire world,” he explains. “I created Nay Maps Clothing because I want people to know that they too can achieve anything they want to as long as they believe.”
Lastly, Nay is a lover of music saying, “I started singing even before I got into acting. My father is a musician and my mother is a music lover, so my family is quite musical,” he said.
“I have performed in many events and I was part of a group that won Crown Gospel Music Awards for Best Contemporary Song and Best Contemporary Song in Gospel, but I had to relocate from Johannesburg to Durban for Uzalo, so I had to leave the band.”
The multi-talented bachelor said he sings RnB, Soul, Hip Hop, House, Gospel, Jazz, Trap and Classical music.
