Social media erupted as a video of a body being carried down a flight of stairs allegedly after a stabbing incident at the University of Zululand spread yesterday.
Not long after that videos of the alleged perpetrator being beaten by a number of people believed to be students at the university circulated.
According to the Zululand Observer a student was stabbed to death at the University’s kwaDlangezwa campus in the students’ residence on Sunday allegedly by his roommate.
Violent reaction spread, with police being called to the scene having to bring in reinforcements so they could peacefully remove the deceased’s body.
The incident is said to have occurred after an argument between the two students which led to the alleged perpetrator stabbing the victim with a kitchen knife.
In one of the videos, members of the university’s Protection Services Department tried shielding the stabber from students seeking revenge from the alleged perpetrator.
