DURBAN – Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to fill up Tshwane’s very own, Lucas Moripe Stadium as they will be hosting Egyptian giants, Zamalek FC tomorrow (Saturday) at 3pm.

The Brazilians aim to gain a healthy advantage going into away leg next weekend. Although they have confirmed that tickets for their CAF Champions League first leg final are officially on sale, it doesn’t have the same magnitude compared to Orlando Pirates’ CAF finals.

The hype around their final isn’t as high compared to one Orlando Pirates got during 2013 in their CAF finals. The Buccaneers are the only South African side to have won the CAF Championship League since 1995 and were runners-up of 2013 CAF Championship League after they were defeated 3-1 on aggregate by Egypt’s Al Ahly.

The Brazilians defeated Zesco United 3-2 aggregate to set up a CAF Champions League final. The team lost its first match in the competition 3-1 against Enyimba and also got defeated by 2-1 against Zesco United in the first stage of the semi-final.

Recently Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane was asking the nation for support in the competition as he believes that his team is working hard.

“We spent time and resources preparing for this,” he says. “The Champions League is big history. It is legacy, and this is what inspires me” he added.
