Last night it was announced that Tamaryn Green is our new Miss South Africa 2018.
The 23-year-old brunette stepped away with the crown at the glamorous event which took place at the Sun Arena at Time Square in Pretoria.
After the crowning, she told the media about ‘the moment’ when they called her name:
“I can’t describe exactly what I felt, but when they said my name the first thing I said was thank you to my creator. And then second in my head was, thank you to my parents. That is exactly what went through my head.
“I just knew my life changed completely at that moment, but for the better.”
The 6th year medical student has almost 50K followers on Instagam and loves to share inspirational quotes on her social media accounts.
The only person you should compete with in life is yourself. We often make the mistake of comparing our worst to someone else’s best. Remember, once we embrace who we are, we are unstoppable.❤

As her first morning as the newly crowned Miss SA, Tamaryn took to social media to share her excitement and wishes for her reign.
“A new dawn rising. Woke up with a heart so full and content. Last night a little girl’s dream became her reality. South Africa I dedicate the next 365 days in service of you. For my people, with my people, together. Ps. Thank you to each and every person who commented, who wrote, who supported. I promise to get back to you as soon as possible. All my love, Tamaryn Green Miss South Africa 2018.”
