Hailey Bieber says she only uses social media on the weekends.

The 24-year-old model has revealed she doesn’t go on Instagram between Monday and Friday because she’s doing her best to limit her social media usage for the sake of her mental health.

Hailey has been the target of trolling ever since she tied the knot with Justin Bieber in 2018, and has now said the comments forced her to completely delete Twitter from her phone because it gives her “anxiety”.

She explained: “I think when you’re going through a situation where you just have so many people hounding you with the same thing over and over again, it starts to mess with your mind. You start to question everything and you’re like, ‘Is there something that I’m not seeing that they see? Maybe they’re right’. It got to such a low point for me that I was like, honestly maybe I’m delusional.

“It’s like separating two realities essentially. One of the things that I found really helped me was I started doing something where I don’t go on Instagram Monday through Friday. I don’t even have a Twitter anymore because there was never really a time I’d go on there where it didn’t feel like it was a very toxic environment.

“The thought of even opening the app gives me such bad anxiety that I feel like I’m going to throw up. So I got rid of that, because I was just like, this needs to go.”

Hailey also turned off her Instagram comments for those who she doesn’t follow, which has helped her create an “encouraging and uplifting” space for herself.

She added: “Another thing that I did too which I think was really helpful was I turned off the comments on my Instagram page except for people that I follow. When I look at my comments now, I know it’s only going to be people that I know are only going to be positive and only going to be encouraging and uplifting.”

And the beauty credited both therapy and her spouse for helping her get her mental health back on track.

Speaking to Doctor Jessica Clemons in a video on her YouTube Channel, Hailey said: “Therapy has helped me a lot. Having somebody to be that outside person to help me dissect the real world and be like, ‘Okay you’re talking about something that really only exists in your screen’.

“And also, my husband has helped me so much with it. I really have to give him credit, because he’s been doing this so much longer at this really massive level.”
