It has been an eventful couple of months for the girl band, Little Mix.

From one member of the group leaving late last year to two other members announcing their pregnancies, and now making history at the Brit Awards, the girls are busy.

The group, which is made up of Perrie Edwards (27) Leigh-Anne Pinnock (29) and Jade Thirlwall (28) made history as the first female band to win the Best British Group award.

All coordinated in glamorous white ball gowns, the singers took to the stage to accept the award, taking a moment to thank their ex-band mate, Jesy Nelson and also to speak out about the adversity they have faced in the music industry.

Nelson announced she was leaving the group officially in December last year.

Taking to the stage during the ceremony on Tuesday, Pinnock said, “We have been together for 10 years it’s been the best years of our life, we’ve had so much fun we’ve made so many memories, we want to thank your incredible fans, Jesy.

“It’s not easy being a female in the UK pop industry, we’ve seen the misogyny, dominance and lack of diversity, we’re proud of how we’re stuck together and we’re using our voices more than ever.”

Thirlwall added, “This award isn’t just for us, it’s for Spice Girls, Sugababes, All Saints, Girls Aloud, all the incredible girls bands we love you.”

Soon after, Nelson took to Instagram to congratulate her former band mates on their win, posting a picture of them holding the gong to her Stories.

The big win comes after Pinnock announced she was expecting a baby with her partner Andre Gray and Edwards announcing hers days before the Brits Awards with her partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
