TikTok star Addison Rae has received some criticism after her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon where she performed famous dances from the platform without crediting the creators.

Rae who rose to fame on the video-sharing platform by taking part in some of the viral dance challenges, left some twitter users unhappy when she performed dances that were mostly created by black creators on the app without crediting them.

In the past TikTok has faced plenty of criticism from creators of colour that were not receiving credit for their content. The creator of the “Renegade” dance Jalaiah Harmon, reclaimed her viral dance after it was performed by everyone from Charli D’Amelio to celebrities like Lizzo without giving her credit.

In the 2-minute video host of the show, Jimmy Fallon, is seen holding placards with the different TikTok dances written on them while Rae performs the eight dances.

One Twitter user wrote, “Stealing from black entertainers and having white “creators” regurgitate it to the masses is american history 101.”

Other users wanted to know where the creators of dances were.

Another user suggested that black creators stop creating to see what happens.
