Lamb Biryani Recipe:
What is Biryani?
Biryani, also known as biriyani or biriani, is a mixed rice dish with its origins among the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent.
Marinade:
250 ml plain yogurt
2tblspoons of masala
1 tblspoon of jeera powder, dhania powder and garam masala
Half a tblspoon of tumeric powder
1tblspoon of crushed garlic
1 onion sliced and fried in butter
1kg lamb
a handful of Coriander leaves
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients and leave to marinate overnight
Cooking method:
4 tbl spoons of olive oil
1\2 an onion
2tblspoons of Breyani mix
A few curry leaves and thyme
1 tblspoon of ginger and garlic.
Add marinade to the above and braise.
Add salt to taste and 1/2 a tomato.
Leave to cook for 45 minutes
Rice:
Cook 2 cups of rice
Add 1 cup of boiled lentils to rice, when rice is almost done.
Layer in an oven proof pot or casserole.
Add a blob of butter to the rice
Add the meat mix, rice with lentils, roasted potatoes and 1 onion fried in butter.
Place in oven for 1/2 an hour, on 180ºC
Garnish with Coriander.
Serve and enjoy!
