Australia based, Morgan Hipworth, shared the recipe on social media showing exactly how he made the snack.

To whip it up you will need chicken breast and buttermilk, along with dried ingredients such as corn flour, paprika, garlic and onion powders, oregano, basil, mustard powder and chicken salt for seasoning.

The 19-year-old suggested dicing up the chicken into one by one-centimetre cubes, then marinate in a bowl with buttermilk and a pinch of sea salt for half an hour.

While the chicken breast is marinating, prepare the dry mixture in another bowl, combining corn flour, pepper, herbs and spices together.

‘Drain the chicken from the buttermilk, and then toss them into the dry mix,’ he said.

‘Shallow fry in vegetable oil for about three minutes or until golden and crispy,’ he added.

Remove the chicken pieces from the pan and place them on a plate or bowl with a paper towel.

His viewers were excited to make the snack with one writing, “Ok trying this one.”

Another one wrote, “My guy literally just leaked the kfc recipe.(sic)”

The video has been viewed over 300,000 times on TikTok and over 600,000 times on Instagram.

Here is Morgan Hipworth’s full recipe:

1 chicken breast, diced into 1cm cubes

For the marinade:

100ml buttermilk

Pinch of sea salt

100g cornflour

1tbsp each of paprika, garlic powder and onion powder

1tbsp each of pepper, oregano, basil and mustard powder

300ml vegetable oil, to fry

Chicken salt, to season

Combine the diced chicken, buttermilk and salt in a bowl and allow to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes. Whilst the chicken is marinading in another bowl combine all the dry mix ingredients.

Heat a frypan over medium with the vegetable oil.

Drain the chicken from the buttermilk and dust generously into the dry mix and then into the hot oil. Fry for around two to three minutes or until golden and crispy.

Drain on the paper bowl and toss with chicken salt. Serve and enjoy!
