Hundreds of students along with political leaders are gathered at the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court to show their support for the #FeesMustFall leader and former Wits SRC president Mcebo Dlamini.

He’s contesting last month’s court decision not to grant him bail because he “shown a propensity to ignore court orders” according to state prosecutor Steven Rubin.

Dlamini is facing charges, public violence malicious damage to property and assault during the #FeesMustFall protests.

He’s being represented by Advocate Dali Mpofu, and advocate Thembeka Ngcukaitobi. Ngcukaitobi is part of the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) legal team which is arguing for the report to be released.

Socila media users have been demanding support from the ANCYL for Dlamini and other #FeesMustFall leaders.

Zwelinzima Vavi showed his support to the 30-year-old by tweeting messages of him showing parallel of his and Dlamini’s arrest. “Last time I was detained was in 1989. I was residing in Sharpeville yet detained in Witbank. Just to frustrate & cut support.”

“How unfair! Fellows committing worst crimes roaming the streets & student leaders fighting for #FeesMustFall prisoned,” he added.
