The popular annual Youth Day race, formerly known as the Dave Spence Memorial race, takes place on Saturday, June 16 in the township of Gugulethu on the outskirts of Cape Town.
Sponsored by RCC, one of South Africa’s financial services providers, the race is aimed at the youth and celebrates the important role they played in post-1994 democratic South Africa.
The RCS Youth Day race includes a 10km road race as well as a 4.2km fun run, so it is accessible to runners and walkers of all ages and fitness levels.
The route is designed to connect Gugulethu to surrounding areas and offers runners and their supporters a fun-filled family day where all are welcome.
The 10-km race starts at 7:30 am and the 4.2km starts at 7:35 am. Entries are available online via Entrytime.com or at the venue on race day from 5:45am-7: 15 am.
