Even though Valentines is a thing of the past now that doesn’t mean you can’t still wear your heart on your nails.
The heart-tipped French manicure rose to popularity in February as everyone prepared to celebrate Valentines day, but even though that time has passed, some people might still want to try this nail trend.
Similar to the traditional French manicure the nail is painted in two colours, with the nail bed being a nude or pink shade and then the tip being a different colour.
Traditionally a French manicure tip would be a simple white strip but with the heart tipped manicure, the tip is made into a bowed heart shape and painted whatever colour you like.
80 Grit Nails on YouTube posted a 7-minute video detailing how you can achieve these nails at home.
All you need are red (if you like) normal or gel polish, gel base coat, light pink gel polish and a gel curing UV lamp.
In order to get the best results, she encouraged that your nails be shaped in a sharp almond shape, the sharper your nail tip the better the heart design will look.

If the red is too much to commit too then here are some different takes on the trend that we rounded up from Instagram.
UK based press-on nail shop, Sparrow Press Ons, created a two coloured heart using white and gold shimmer nail polish to create the heart tip.
Celebrity nail technician Mei Kawajiri updated the look by painting different coloured tips and then outlining them with yellow nail polish.
London based nail salon, Had Nails, painted the heart tip black giving the trend a more edgy feel.
Nail artist Nicole Fernando went for a simpler look, painting just her ring finger and grabbing some inspiration from the Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons.
Nail technician Holly went all in with a bright pink base to go with her heart tip.
