Spring is usually a good time to make some changes and what better way to distract yourself from what has been a year to remember than by trying out some new hairstyles.
From the perfect wash-n-go to the new bob or large box braids, switching up your hair game will definitely help salvage what’s left of this year.
Here are some of our favourite must-try spring hairstyles:
1.The jumbo box braids
One of the most popular hairstyles right now has to be the large/jumbo box braids, but do not be mistaken braids are always in style no matter the size or style. Insecure star Issa Rae was rocking her chunky braids on the cover of Bustle. The style is lightweight and effortless, there are also plenty of tutorials online that will help you achieve it at home, saving you some coins while looking on-trend.
2. The new bob
Whether you cut your natural hair or cut wig, getting a bob is always a look. It’s effortless while also adding an extra edge to any look. While some people stick to the blunt bob the choppy bob is also a look that stars like Hailey Bieber have been rocking. To spice it up, even more, this spring, consider colouring it.
3. The perfect wash n go
This one is for the curly and coily haired queens, achieving this style differs for each hair type. The rule of thumb though, according to the hair community, is that you have to co-wash your hair using your favourite conditioner and then after rinsing it, while it’s dripping wet, in sections, you moisturize with your favourite moisturiser or cream. Some people add a lightweight oil before or after the moisturizer, but that is up to you.
And then lastly you add your favourite hair gel and finger coil or scrunch your hair upwards using your hands. Looser curls use less product but those with coils need to use a lot of gel to achieve the perfect wash n go.
4. The 70’s bangs
Celebrities love some 70’s bangs, Zendaya was recently seen sporting them during her Emmy acceptance speech. The easy-breezy hairstyle will be perfect for springs warmer months when you go out on picnics or any outdoor adventures. But it can also easily be switched up for a more sophisticated occasion.

5. The haircut
In recent years more and more people have been embracing short hair. From celebrities like Zoe Kravitz, Nandi Madida, Lupita Nyong’o and Yvonne Orji, to people all over the world, short hair has gone fro the back seat to magazine covers. It is also easy to maintain since there isn’t that much hair to deal with making it perfect for most people.
6. Cornrows
Whether they’re straight to the back or up in a bun, nothing says spring vacation better than some cornrows. They are also timeless so you can wear them all year round, playing with the different styles. Celebrities that love to sport these are, Alicia Keys, Rihanna, Yara Shahidi and Beyonce to name a few.
