A pornographic video appeared briefly on conservative Senator Ted Cruz’s Twitter page, his staff confirmed on Tuesday.
A tweet by the Texas Republican’s spokeswoman, Catherine Frazier, early Tuesday implied that the posting was due to some sort of hacking or malfeasance: “The offensive tweet posted on @tedcruz account earlier has been removed by staff and reported to Twitter.”

Someone using Cruz’s account appeared to have clicked “Like” on a tweet that contained the video.
The video appeared for about an hour overnight before it was removed from Cruz’s feed, according to tech news and media website ‘The Verge’.

Wife: Somewhere #TedCruz‘s staff is trying to wake him up to unlike that video. But he’s sound asleep after watching it.

Cruz’s recent tweets were confined to Texas’ recovery from Hurricane Harvey and Monday’s anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks against New York and Washington.
