The American Music Awards took place last night and as usual gave stars the opportunity to be fashion forward, fun and maybe a little too innovative in their outfit choices.

We always love the thrill of binging on red carpet looks the day after an awards show and last night, it looked like black and edgy was the theme of the evening, intermixed with a subtle splash of florals, ruffles and soft pink tones.

Here are some of our picks for the most stand-out fashion at the AMA’s 2017, hopefully making your Monday a little less blue with total ‘wow‘ or ‘OMG ew‘ moments for you to enjoy.

1.  Demi Lovato

The singer looked flawless in a figure-hugging sheer design by Ester Abner.

2. Pink 

Pink looked fun, fluffy and fresh from head to toe wearing a Monique Lhuillier gown.

3. Diana Ross

Before being honoured with an AMA Lifetime Achievement Award, Diana Ross paraded the carpet with boundless energy in an over-the-top ensemble that resembled a bird.

4. Hailee Steinfeld

The singer and actress looked uber chic in a tailored suit by Mugler and armour-inspired bra.

5. Selena Gomez

Selena deviated from her usual flowy and floral street-wear uniform and donned a leather jacket-coat (your pick) by Coach, complemented by platinum locks that were the talk of the evening.

6. Lea Michele

Lea Michelle was all princess in a blush pink J. Mendel dress, slicked back hair and drop earrings by Anita Ko Jewellery.

7. Ashlee Simpson

Sequins were another trend of the evening and Ashlee looked stunning (also matching with sis-in-law, Tracee Ellis Ross) in this sparkly number.

8. Tracee Ellis Ross 

Host of the show, who had multiple outfit changes, rocked this Stella McCartney design as her first dress of the evening.

9. Kehlani 

Kehlani’s body art was on display in this ‘barely-there’ dress by Amen Coutour.

10. Bebe Rexha 

The newcomer songstress looked very Kim Kardashian-esque showing off her curves in a sheer dress by August Getty and long blond hair.

11. Lilly Singh

The YouTube star brought one of the few pops of colour on the carpet and was the literal embodiment of a rose (or curtain) in this head-turning gown.

12. Kelly Clarkson
