David Tlale once again cements himself as a household name.
The designer has signed to Celebrity Services Africa (C.S.A), Africa’s leading talent and communications agency, joining the likes of Bonang Matheba.
Renowned for defying convention, David Tlale has continued to surprise the global fashion elite since starting out in 2003, including such feats as creating the world’s longest fashion runway, across the iconic Nelson Mandela Bridge in Johannesburg in 2012.
Subsequently, Tlale has had installations at Paris Fashion Week and also became the first SA designer to showcase a solo collection at Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week New York (following which he has returned for six consecutive years).
“C.S.A. and I started talking about four years ago and I knew that when I was ready to take my brand from local to international heights, we would be working together. And here we are!” says Tlale.
“My favourite part of partnering with C.S.A. is the fact that we believe in the same vision: being a brand that’s by South Africa, for the world.”
Most recently, Tlale made his Hollywood design debut, when actress Florence Kasumba walked the red carpet in one of his dresses at the Los Angeles premiere of the much anticipated Marvel Studios production, Black Panther.
