Lupita Nyong’o and Trevor Noah have an exciting project in the works.

Oscar winning actress Lupita Nyong’o has signed on to star in the film adaptation of South African comedian Trevor Noah’s award-winning auto-biography Born A Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood.

Lupita, who currently plays Nakia in Marvel’s smash-hit film Black Panther, will play Trevor‘s mother Patricia in the upcoming biopic.

The best-selling book was released in 2016 and details Noah’s childhood growing up in Apartheid South Africa as the son of a white man and black woman.

Lupita shared the news on Instagram and Twitter, accompanied by an image of her and Noah.

She captioned the picture: When I read @TrevorNoah’s “Born A Crime,” I could not put the book down. Excited to announce that I will be starring in and producing its feature film adaptation! #BornACrime.”

Noah responded by posting the same image on Instagram alongside a heartfelt message:

“My mom is a powerful woman who could easily be one of the beautiful soldiers in Wakanda. So it’s beyond a perfect fit that she would be portrayed on the big screen by the radiant and regal Lupita Nyong’o. I’m beyond excited.”
