Melbourne-based Brad Canning posted the recipe for the dish just in time for Christmas.

To whip it up, Canning began by slicing an avocado in half and removing the pit but did not throw it away.

He then cut the avocado slices into wedges and placed them onto a plate ready to coat.

Next, he coated the avocado slices individually into flour, egg and panko bread crumbs. Vegans can use an egg substitute.

Canning then sprayed the coated avocado slices with a light spray of avocado oil and placed them into an air fryer.

While the chips cooked for 10 to 15 minutes, he prepared the avocado pit to plant by peeling the skin off.

He then placed the seed inside a damp paper towel and places it inside a zip lock bag ready to store in a cool, dry place. The graphic designer uses his pantry to store it.

After that, he makes a dipping sauce by combining equal amounts of mayonnaise with Vegemite. He dips the crunchy and crispy ‘avo chips’ into the dip and enjoys.
