1. Access the website – www.gdeadmissions.gov.za

2. After reading the Terms & Conditions, select ‘Apply for 2019’.

3. Select ‘continue’.

4. Enter parent/legal guardian details. Remember to tick the T’s & C’s box.

5. Enter learner details

6. Apply to a school

TIPS

TIP 1: Make use of Google Chrome, as the site is linked to Google Maps, which makes it easier with regards to the addresses. Google Chrome is faster and most compatible with the online application system.

What will happen if the schools that I have applied for has reached its capacity?

The system will alert the applicants if a school has received high volumes of applications and advise them to apply to other schools as well. In addition, the department will facilitate placement in a school where there is available space.

The Gauteng Department of Education on Tuesday said the number of online applications had hit the 180,000 mark on only the second day of registration.

The total of 180,313 by late morning Tuesday was up from the 144,124 on the opening day of registrations on Monday.

Applications for Grade one and eight commenced on Monday and will close midnight on May 28, 2018.

The Department will operate 57 admissions centres across the 15 education districts.
