Adele has revealed that she’s making a TV comeback and will host Saturday Night Live next week.
The singer, 32, took to Instagram on Sunday to announce the presenting gig and shared a picture of colourful notes showing H.E.R will be the musical guest.
After sharing the exciting news on social media, dozens of music fans took to Twitter to speculate that the move could mean Adele is preparing to release new music.
Adele kept her announcement picture simple, opting for a yellow, blue and pink notes detailing the date, host, and entertainment set for SNL.
Alongside the snap, she penned: ‘Bloooooody hellllll I’m so excited about this!! And also absolutely terrified! My first-ever hosting gig and for SNL of all things!!!!
‘I’ve always wanted to do it as a stand-alone moment, so that I could roll up my sleeves and fully throw myself into it, but the time has never been right.
‘But if there was ever a time for any of us to jump head first into the deep end with our eyes closed and hope for the best it’s 2020 right?’
The star continued: ‘It’ll be almost 12 years to the day that I first appeared on the show, during an election…which went on to break my career in America, so it feels full circle and I just couldn’t possibly say no!
‘I am besides myself that H.E.R will be the musical guest!! I love her SO much I can’t wait to melt into a flaming hot mess when she performs, then confuse myself while I laugh my arse off in between it all. See you next week.’
Adele first appeared on Saturday Night Live back in 2008 and she performed songs Chasing Pavements and Cold Shoulder.
The star also appeared on SNL in 2015 when she was promoting 25, again singing two of her hit tunes – Hello and When We Were Young.
Adele hasn’t released any new music since the release of her third album, 25, in 2015 and she hasn’t had a major public appearance since the record’s tour in 2016.
Music fans were quick to flood Twitter with suggestions that Adele’s SNL appearance could mean she’s preparing to release new music.

This comes after Adele treated fans to a rare glimpse at her close friendship with Nicole Richie, when she dedicated a heartfelt belated birthday post to the star.
The British singer took to Instagram to profess how much she ‘loves and admires’ the daughter of Lionel Richie, while also sharing a hilarious clip and fun-filled snaps.
The never-before-seen images also documented the star’s incredible weight loss after she lost a staggering seven stone last year.
In the video in question, Nicole was seen crouching on a kitchen floor, as she waited for the star to walk in – and duly frightened her with a loud ‘boo’ once she did.
