#CPTFestiveLights: This highly anticipated event marks the start of Cape Town’s merry season. It’s on every Capetonians To-Do list. The event is the official switching on of all the festive lights. The annual event always takes place at the heart of the mother city.
This is one of the biggest, open-air events in Cape Town, with thousands of Capetonians and tourists from all around the world. This year’s theme was the ‘City of ideas’.
Last night, Adderley Street was transformed into the biggest and brightest street party with yummy food, stalls selling Christmas gifts and glow-in-the-dark jewelry.
The artist line-up included Mzansi Music top dogs. Cape Town welcomed their very own multi-award winning SA rapper AKA and best international BET award winning, Dj Coffee who performed at the festive lights switch-on for the first time. To add the cherry on top, the event was made extra Lit by the legendary DJ Ready D. Cape Town’s very own AKA killing it!
