CAPE TOWN – The internet’s most famous animal, Grumpy Cat, has been immortalised in wax last week.

On the back of making her Broadway debut in the stage production of Cats last Friday, Grumpy Cat and her owner, Tabatha Bundesen, hopped on a flight from New York City to the nation’s capital Washington, D.C. to view the wax replica of the frowning feline at Madame Tussauds.

“She was thrilled. As you can see, she’s still thrilled,” Bundesen told Reuters.

The feline was seen posing amongst former US Presidents at the wax museum much to the delight of her fans.

The four-year-old mixed, whose real name is Tardar Sauce, went viral after her permanent frown, caused by feline dwarfism according to Bundesen, who then became meme famous in 2012.

Just like the A-list celebrities in Hollywood, Grumpy Cat, too, has a manager, a regulated photo-shoot schedule and public appearance diary.

She was given a placard to mark her Broadway debut as those in attendance cheered for her as she was named honorary “Jellicle Cat”.
