Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is planning on launching Wing Marketplace – a drone delivery system – that will take to the skies, delivering food to its customers.
The company has had talks with Domino’s Pizza and Whole Foods (organic supermarket chain) for a possible collaboration with Google.
For a while, the company has been testing air deliveries with the unmanned aircraft but at the same time, Amazon has also been testing with drones for parcel deliveries.
While this may be the future of mail and food delivery, it does come with some flaws.
For instance, Google (and possibly Amazon) need to come up with a way to prevent drones from either malfunctioning or colliding with each other.
We have seen drones falling from the sky due to power failure, which is a major cause of concern.
Another obstacle is Google working out the logistics, by ensuring that the delivery arrives at its destination on time, without fault.
