African Fashion International is bringing the iconic MASTERCLASS SERIES to the Mother City ahead of Cape Town Fashion Week.

Cape Town Fashion Week

AFI believes in the promise of Africa and it’s incredible artisans who are capable of producing goods at high quality. Our aim is to usher in the next generation of entrepreneurial creatives, and through this commitment, we are proud to be hosting the AFI MASTERCLASS SERIES.

MASTERCLASSES are scheduled for 22 March, at The Ritz Hotel in Sea Point. Our commitment to emerging African talent is evident in AFI FAST TRACK- an incubator that equips designers to succeed in the business of fashion.

The series is set to have interactive discussions and demonstrations on latest trends in the fast growing fashion business, and help young fashion designers to reach and realise their full potential in the competitive fashion industry.

Experienced speakers from around the continent and home grown creatives will be sharing the stage engaging in topics that are the drive for the success of Fashion Business. Discussions with Alex Harris a Retail Consultant who will talk about Building a Commercial Range, and David Tlale, Fashion Designer will look it to building the Niche Brand in the Business of Fashion to prepare upcoming fashion designers for the big market.

In between these sessions MAC Global Senior Artist South Africa, Raine Tauber and MAC Global Senior Artist Sub Sahara Africa, Marco Louis, will focus on the international makeup trends, making it locally relevant. Wella Professionals Global Top Artist Audrey Loots will be covering all there is to know about Hair styling, from Red Carpet to Runway, and delegates have an opportunity to learn from broad panel of experts. We encourage Fashion Design students, Lecturers, Stylists and everyone around Cape Town to be part of this remarkable once in a life time opportunity.

Inspired by a bold, vibrant, and authentic African spirit and theme: #IAMAFRICA! AFI Cape Town Fashion Week celebrates the future of African luxury fashion with the power and confidence of the continent’s ancient creative heritages. AFI has built a thriving fashion marketing, retail and development platform in just over a decade that celebrates the creativity and craftsmanship of our continent shining a light on African luxury fashion aesthetics, in all their originality, heritage and style.
