Van living has become a trend amongst young people that are looking to travel without worrying much about accommodation along the way.

An Australian based young couple is doing exactly that, using their joint Instagram account to showcase how they have transformed a utility truck into a luxury touring vehicle.

Amber Moran (21) and Clark Russell (25) from Sydney, have been exploring Queensland after setting off on a cross-country trip at the beginning of this year.

The couple has grown in popularity not only for sharing their travels but also for the renovations they have made to turn their van into a mini home.

In one of their videos, they show off the inside of the canopy which consists of an iPad holder, adjustable cabin lights, a fan, and fly screen.

In one of Moran’s TikTok videos she pans to the back of the van to reveal her ’kitchen’ which slides out on a tray revealing a gas stove and storage for food and cooking utensils.

In another clip we see the inside of the canopy which shows their mattress and blankets laid across the base of the van to form a bed.

Moran then zooms into a switchboard built into the inner wall – complete with auxiliary and USB ports – before she flicks the cabin light switch to show how the colour and brightness can be adjusted.

In the corner of the cabin, a fan can be seen hooked up to the wall and a strap of velcro can be spotted in the centre of the roof to connect an iPad that they use to watch shows as they lie down.

For ventilation the canopy has built-in windows with curtains fitted to block out daylight.

The couples videos on TikTok have received more than 2 million views, with viewers expressing how impressive the couples rebuild is.

One viewer wrote, “Wait I love it.”

Another added, “It’s so hard to watch someone else live your dream. Awesome setup mate.”

According to an interview in the Daily Mail, the couple plans to travel to Cape York, in Far North Queensland, before heading back down to NSW’s Snowy Mountains for the snow season in mid-July.
