Whether it’s skincare or make-up, the beauty community has grown massively in the past couple of years.

Make-up artists, skincare and beauty influencers have played a major role in making the beauty industry more accessible to regular people as they share advice, tips and tricks to help them out.

This has led to a number of make-up trends going viral on apps like TikTok, YouTube and Instagram. The latest trend includes blush which is interesting because most people used to be apprehensive about using it in the past. This is because blush usually came in bright pink shades which, if used the wrong way, would leave people looking a little ’clowny’.

Nowadays, most people cannot leave the house without adding some blush to their cheeks and some even all over their face. With wider shade ranges being available more people have been able to play around with this old staple and choose what works for them.

The latest blush trend will sound like it’s going to clown town but we promise the end results are usually amazing.

For the trend, creators are putting red lipstick on their face to try and create a rosy and slightly flushed look.

The make-up artist responsible for this trend is Sellma Kasumoviq, who posted a video earlier this year where she applied red liquid lipstick on the cheeks and temples of her client before blending it in and then adding some foundation over it.

“The reason I applied blusher, concealer and contour before foundation is because of the smoothness it gives off to the final look. It’s also less cakey. I put way more blusher than I usually do to even it out, because the foundation underneath tends to fade it out,“ she captioned her video.

Soon after Kasumoviq’s video, more beauty influencers tried her technique which led to it going viral on TikTok with over 38 million views under the tag blush trend.

The success of the lipstick blush hack mostly depends on your preference, some people love having red undertones but others do not.
