Aspiring musicians using BBM are about to get a whole new place to put their work out there.
Creative Media Works, the people behind BBM, in partnership with video distribution platform, Stream.Digital have recently announced the launch of their own media platform, Stage360 Music.
The service was developed with the intention of empowering musicians by giving them a place to broadcast their material.

Since making the leap to Android and iOS, BBM has become more than just an instant messaging app.
BBM Discover is essentially an app within another app; it allows BBM users to download games, stream music and videos, read the news, and even do some retail therapy.
Think of it, then, as a tinier phone living inside your current phone. Phoneception.
Stage360 Music will be one of the multimedia apps available on Discover. CEO of Creative Media Works, Matthew Talbot said: “This service takes into account the evolution of social media and the popularity of messaging apps as the go-to place in the digital environment.
“Stage360 Music is a particular example of how we can give potential artists the tools, functionality and features to create a profile, share their music, and engage with their fans in an organic social environment.”

Rock on, Mr Talbot.
The service will be connected to users’ BBM accounts to make signing in quick and easy, and will allow users to personalise and share content they upload.
This may sound like some kind of redone version of Soundcloud, but to that Talbot says no.
“Music is just the first of the Stage360 categories that BBM Messenger intends to launch. The goal is to create other categories that will fall under the 360 service such as comedy, short film and fashion,” said Talbot.
So it won’t just be a Soundcloud, it’ll be Soundcloud, Comedy Central, and Fashion TV all rolled into one. Whether this service will manage to attract any musicians and perform smoothly, is yet to be seen.
