The 2018 Pirelli calendar features an all black cast, recreating the “Alice in Wonderland” theme, alongside South African model Thando Hopa.
The Pirelli calendar is renowned for its sensual images of women since its first issue, captured by the best photographers in the world of fashion.
Its latest calendar however, has taken a unique change in direction : the Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland theme, starring an all black cast.
The photographer for 2018’s calendar is Tim Walker & has been styled by British Vogue editor-in-chief , Edward Enninful.
The 17 faces that recreate the characters in the beloved tale include RuPaul, Sean “Puff Diddy” Combs, Whoopi Goldberg, Naomi Campbell, Djimon Hounsou, Lupita Nyong’o and many others.

South African model and lawyer, Hopa, makes an appearance as the Princess of Hearts and is the first black South African to be featured in the renowned calendar.
Hopa made her modelling debut in 2012 with local designer Gert Johan Coetzee. Since then, the 28 year old has made campaigns for the Audi Q2 and Vichy products.
