Cape Town – The department of Correctional Services has confirmed that Oscar Pistorius has been transferred from the Kgosi Mampuru II Prison to the Atteridgeville Correctional Centre.

It is reported that the transfer was done in order to accommodate his disability needs. Pistorius was charged with 6 years for culpable homicide in the early hours of Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2013.

The incident follows the killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. In November 2015, the Supreme Court of Appeal overturned his culpable homicide conviction and, finding in favour of the State, replaced it with murder.
