JOHANNESBURG – A man died after his car was involved in a crash with a train on Monday morning at Watermeyer and 2nd Avenue, in Westonaria near the N12.
ER24 spokesperson, Chitra Bodasing Harduth, said paramedics found the car lying on its roof near the train tracks.
“The driver of the car, believed to be about 40 years of age, was found lying near the vehicle. Upon assessment it was found that he sustained multiple severe injuries. Sadly there was nothing that paramedics could do for him and he was declared dead,” said Bodasing Harduth.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
