CAPE TOWN- A man has been arrested in Harare in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, for allegedly being in possession of a large quantity of dagga, Western Cape police said on Saturday.

“Our endeavours to root out the drug trade in this province led to the arrest of a suspect earlier today [Saturday] who was caught in possession of a large quantity of dagga with an estimated street value to the tune of R40,000,” Lt-Col Andrè Traut said.

Information provided led police to an address in Harare, Khayelitsha, where the 31-year-old man was arrested. He was due to appear in the Khayelitsha Magistrate’s Court on Monday on a charge of dealing in drugs, Traut said.
