PRETORIA – President Jacob Zuma on Sunday sent condolences to Tanzania following a 5.7 magnitude earthquake that struck northwest Tanzania, close to Lake Victoria and the borders of Uganda and Rwanda, resulting in the deaths of 13 people and injuring more than 200.

Zuma extended condolences to President John Magufuli, the government, and the people of Tanzania.

β€œThe people of South Africa share the pain and loss of the loved ones, their homes, and property, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all the affected families. We also wish the injured a speedy recovery,” he said.
