Women empowerment has never looked better.

Fitness gurus and influencers enjoyed an action-packed class taught by leaders in the fitness field… twerking included!

Red Bull welcomed some of Cape Town’s top fitness media and influencers to enjoy a morning of fun and fitness, and, most importantly, to learn the value of balance at myUtopia at the V&A Waterfront.

The event kicked off with an informative nutritional talk from dietician and Ironman athlete Mariella Dierks. Mariella touched on balance in one’s diet, mindful eating and how to fuel your workout. After a quick Red Bull to get those energy levels up, the ladies were ready to tackle the workouts. Starting off with a taste of the amazing benefits of Barre-Fit.

Barre-Fit is a ballet-based fitness class that incorporates elements, from not only ballet, but functional training, yoga and pilates. The class certainly got everyone out of any possible fitness funk they could be feeling.

With bodies warmed up and the vibe going, professional dancer Tarryn Alberts smashed comfort zones with a dance workout based on house, hip hop and dancehall styles – focusing on the glutes, legs and core areas of the body. The Die Antwoord dancer and choreographer made sure all the ladies had a couple more moves for their party repertoire this weekend.

All in all, it was a highly successful event. Seeing that big corporate companies care about female empowerment, health, and the new wave of influencers is uplifting. Hopefully more big businesses will emulate Red Bull and support local media and influencers in the future.
