Recycling is good for the environment and for financial gain, a young Rustenburg businesswoman this week.

“It is important to recycle because it is good for the environment. And if it is of financial benefit as well then it is a great thing. I chose this industry because it is growing. It is gaining the momentum it needs and has proven to be sustainable,” Reabetswe Ngwane said.

The 26-year-old is the proud owner of ATYRE, a company that recycles tyres. The company was established three years ago and employs 13 full-time staff. Ngwane says she wants to grow the business and employ more people.

She is exhibiting her recycled tyre bags at the two-day Women in Tourism conference in Rustenburg that aims to put women in the agenda for economic development.
