Futuristic office-wear meets frilly, flowy African flair.
Ready-to-wear womenswear brand Aya Velase was founded by Durban-born designer Ayanda Mthembu and recently released a look book for their Spring/Summer 2017 collection.
Known for their precision and craftsmanship, Aya Velase played with volume, tailored lines and feminine silhouettes to create a range that hints at futuristic officewear combined with comfortable athleisure, and a healthy dose of African flair.
The look book portrays a rustic aesthetic, set amongst a backdrop of cornfields and blue skies that complement a colour palette of rusty reds, crisp white and muted hues.
The images were created in collaboration with budding fashion photographer Simphiwe Mkhwanazi and make-up artist Nikkita Naidoo.
