#SAMW came to slay!
Empowering statements written on the models’ bodies, masks, headdresses, face glitter, colourful capes and patchwork shirts – these are just a few of the trendy touches that designers added to their collections at South Africa Menswear Week.
Many of the finishing touches are subtly political in nature, from the phrases on the Magents models’ chests, which are a nod to the #MeToo sexual harassment awareness movement, and the ‘Waste’ buckets carried by the Rosey and Vittori models, reminding us of the Cape Town #DAYZERO water crisis.
More than ever, designers use their fashion to make a powerful statement. This year, their creations truly speak for themselves.
We can’t help but fall in love with the statement outfits and bright colours of this year’s SA Menswear Week AW 18 collections.
