As winter turns to spring our tastes tend to reflect the change in seasons.

Look no further for the ultimate spring drink with Monkey Shoulder’s renowned Monkey Mojito.

The Mojito is a traditional Cuban highball, consisting of whie rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water and mint, but as you know, Monkey Shoulder prides themselves in breaking tradition and being unconventional.

It’s about being authentic, and what better way to be just that than throwing a triple blend single malt Scotch whisky into the mix.

Let the monkey inside come out to play and have some fun with a twist on the traditional. Cool down and let your taste buds be tantalized by the play of fresh lime juice and sugar syrups while ginger quietly hangs out in the background.

Cheers to spring!

Monkey Mojito: Tastes like the place between pleasure and joy.

What You’ll Need

· 50ml Monkey shoulder

· 20ml Fresh lime juice

· 15ml Sugar syrup

· dash Angostura Bitters

· 12 Mint leaves

· Ginger Ale

Making It:

1. Add all ingredients to a glass except ginger ale

2. Muddle well

3. Add crushed ice and stir

4. Top up with ginger ale

5. Garnish: 3 mint leaves and lime wedge

Our Tips:

Home made redcurrant syrup! Dissolve equal measures of water and castor sugar into a bowl. Mash up equal weight of redcurrants and add to the sugar syrup you just made.

Let it sit for a few hours (or as long as you can handle!). When you think it’s tasty enough, strain it very well. If redcurrants are ridiculously rare, then a combination of fresh raspberries and grenadine syrup does the trick!
