DURBAN – Mamelodi Sundowns secured their place in the 2016 CAF finals after winning against Zesco United 2-0 in the second round of the semi-finals in Tshwane on Saturday.

The game took place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium where the Brazilians got off to a flying start in the first five minutes when Anthony Laffor scored the opening goal.

Sundowns needed to win by at least 1-0 to go through, however; a draw would have suited Zesco United in the second leg.

The second goal came after 63 minutes from Percy Tau and it managed to send Mamelodi Sundowns to CAF Champions League finals. Downs won 3-2 on aggregate, losing 2-1 in the first leg in Zambia last week.

Sundowns will be playing under pressure as they are expected to perform well in the MTN8 finals and also to defend their PSL title.

“Well it is football. If you want to be the best then you have to behave like the best. This means even if we have to play three matches in a week then so be it, I know that we have a good team and we can rotate the squad with no problem,” Teko Modise told his official website.
