In the pursuit of radical media transformation, the resilient, Qiniso Mbili (25) established a self-funded entertainment publication called Perception Media.

The award-winning writer established Perception Media with the intention to redefine the product into a new kind of publication that withstands the dwindling profits experienced by conventional media houses.

The innovative multimedia production company is aimed at helping artists and small businesses build their presence and branding in the industry.

As a self-funded company, Perception Media operates on limited resources and Mbili initially struggled with securing high-profile sources during its inception. No stranger to doors being slammed in his face, the Nat Nakasa Awardee learnt that professionalism, hard work and persistence works wonders.

Perception Media’s future hints at operating at a national scale, documenting the arts that emerge from various underprivileged pockets of the country.

The Umgababa-born leader is also the co-founder of an active and registered Non-Governmental Organisation called The Organised People Towards Development, which seeks to empower and develop the community through various programmes.
